    PDF Upload?

Asked by anthony on July 21, 2012 at 07:30 PM

I see in a previous forum question that it is possible to upload a PDF form to a jotform. Following the upload, does a fillable PDF maintain its fillable qualities? If so, once the fillable PDF is completed and the visitor submits the form, is the filled PDF sent to me along with the jotform, or does the visitor have to print and send the form?

Hello Anthony.  Yes, the fillable PDF will maintain its fillable qualities when you upload your fillable PDF from your form.  But, what you cannot do by default is save the details on a fillable PDF form. As it appears on the prompt:  You cannot save data typed into this form.  Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records

So after you fill up the form, you should have to print it to regular PDF so that the content will be saved, and have the new PDF file with the contents be the one to be submitted.

I am trying to import a fillable PDF to a joform. The "File Upload" action under Form Tools" does not meet this need; this appears to be for visitors. How do I upload a fillable PDF so that it is part of my jotform?

You cannot have a pdf file as part of your form, what you can do is to insert a link where the pdf is. Use the Free Text HTML field in order to make a clickable link

    You can use for example

    <a target="_blank" href= "www.URLwherePDFfileis.com/file.pdf">TEXT</a>

    Cheers!

I'm trying to upload documents to a website for verification. I filled out an application online and now they want the documents uploaded in PDF format. How do I do that?

We would like to inform everyone in this thread that you can now import a fillable PDF form to Jotform.

    https://www.jotform.com/adobe-formscentral-alternative/

Choose "PDF Only" after clicking Import Forms button:

Note that it may take a couple of days, but our developers are doing their best to speed up the process. Once your forms are ready, we'll send you an email about it.

On the other hand, we are very pleased to inform everyone that we have just released a Fillable PDF Form Creator. You can now export your forms into a fillable PDF form and use it offline. You can save the pdf locally or submit it on the PDF by clicking the submit button. It works similarly when you submit your web form.

Thank you and we welcome your suggestions, comments and feedbacks.
