Data saved

If the student partially completes the form ( I have set the continue later to enabled) and logs off, when they return to the form, I take it the data they had entered will have been saved and they carry on from where they left off. Is this correct?

That is correct, provided that the browser doesn't clear any cached data on their end. The save forms and continue later widget, uses cache to store information. Once this is cleared, I'm afraid they will have to repeat filling up the form again.
