It's not giving me an option outside of creating an account or logging into an existing paypal account to complete payment.

The short answer to your question is no, it's not possible with the Standard PayPal payment field integration. If you have PayPal Pro, then you can customize the checkout experience for your users and allow them to pay via credit card.

Using the Standard PayPal integration will always redirect the user to PayPal, where they need to login to their PayPal account respectively. You can also find this info on PayPal's website:
