What would you advise for a form that has many or most of the questions

Asked by Eileen_DEN on July 25, 2017 at 02:09 AM

What would you advise for a form that has many or most of the questions required? We find that if we don't make them required, they sometimes don't get answered. This is an issue for separating b/c someone can't move forward unless they answer the question.

It's also difficult because they can't see what else they will need to answer (applications for example). Since they can't save the form they have to reenter information. Thus I've had to make one long form so people can see all the information they will need to enter.

Would much rather separate into several pages or tabs.

    Thanks for the help!

I did check your last edited form and it seems to have two sections. I would suggest you to please please separate the pages by adding "Page Break" field in form. You may like to take a look at the following guide on how to create multi-page form: https://www.jotform.com/help/119-How-to-Create-Multi-Page-Forms

Please note that it is also possible to allow users to save the input data in form so that they can continue later. You can enable the "Auto Fill" feature of your form which will save the input data every few seconds. Please be noted that auto fill feature saves the input data in browser cookie. That means if the user access the form again from other browser, other system or clear the browser cache, the saved data will not be accessible. The following guide should help you:  http://www.jotform.com/help/227-How-to-Enable-Auto-Fill-Feature-Save-Form-Entries-to-Continue-Later

    Hope this helps.

Do get back to us if you meant to ask something else.

    Thank you!

I'd advise you try the first widget from the article, the Form Tabs widget.
This widget has the option to let users move through the pages, even if required questions were not filled out.

Example of the widget used on a form:

When you add Form Tabs to your form, and open the widget's Settings, here is the option you will want to set to "Yes":
