    Moving label to the drop down options / Decreasing field spacing

    Asked by backbone on August 21, 2012 at 05:54 AM

    Is it possible to add text in the field for people to select rather than labelling the form above it

    at the moment my form is labelled with the words above it - for the name of the form but i would like to move the label to the actual select/drop down list field to shorten the form

    Is it possible to remove the distance of the form field, to shorten the form to make it like more compact?

    It is possible to add the label as another option in the drop down field and set it as the default value. However, the blank option cannot be removed and will remain in the drop down. This kind of set up will also render the 'Required field' function useless, as the drop downs will not be empty since we have set a default value for it (the text label).

    Check this form our for a demo:

    Another option is to use sub-labels for your fields:

    If you noticed, both forms have their field labels hidden using this injected css:

    .form-label-top, .form-label-left, .form-label-right
    display:none !important;

    Is it possible to remove the distance of the form field, to shorten the form to make it like more compact?

    Decreasing question spacing to 1 and injecting the css code below should shorten the form.

    .form-line {
    margin: 2px 0 !important;

    You may also decrease the margin value to 0 to make it look more compact.
