Dropdown fields are not showing previously seleted option when editing submissions

I wanted to add the "Edit Submission" feature to my form, so people could save and edit later. My form submissions are integrated to my google Drive.

My question now is that each time a user edits a submission, a new pdf submission is generated. Is there any way that the original submission is updated, as opposed to creating a new file. Also when I click "Edit Submission" I end up losing the information in dropdown menus in my form.....is there a way around that?

    My form is https://form.jotform.us/72331082300137

    Thanks,

    Riju

I would like to apologize for any inconvenience, however, there is no option to overwrite any existing file in Google Drive that has the same name. Editing submissions is considered as a new submission that is why it creates a new file.

May we know what method are you using when editing your form submissions and you are encountering the issue you described, please? I have tried to edit a test submission from a clone version of your form following this guide — How-to-Edit-Submissions-Made-on-Your-Forms and I wasn't able to reproduce the issue.
