    Email reservation form to person booking reservations

    Asked by mb1313 on September 01, 2012 at 04:15 PM

    I have created a website for the condominium association where I live and I need a reservation form for booking clubhouse rentals by residents.

    How do I make the form so that residents can fill out the necessary information and when they hit the register button it will go to my email account.

    Also, can I add an end time to this form.

    Thanks,

    Mary Brown

    Hello, if I am understanding you correctly, I believe this is what you are looking for, please refer to this guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/25-Receiving-Emails-on-Form-Submissions. The standard email notification is usually already applied and working for your forms Labled NOTIFICATION (noreply@jotform.com) which is supposed to send you an email of the submissions automatically but I see that you have modified yours somewhat.

    Hi Deygus,

    Thank you for responding.  I have changed the form and have also updated it again since I sent this question in.  I have actually tested the form a couple of time and the email really does come me.

    One more question if you don't mind.  This form is very long and there is a lot of wasted space.  Is there a way to take out some of the extra space.

    I was so delighted to find this website and a form that fits my needs.  Keep up the good work.

    Hello Mary.  Thank you for your kind comments.

    May we know what you have in mind on removing some extra space in your form?  There are a lot of ways on how to compress your form by control of the layout using CSS.  Perhaps you can share with us which parts of your form the ones you wish to get shrinked then we can find out the CSS code for it, for you.

    There is a lot of white space between the sections of the form.  I would like to shrink it up so that all the boxes are closer together and so that the form is shorter with less scrolling.

    Here is the page that I am talking about:

    http://lasbrisasassociation.com/cabana_reservations.html

    If I was the user, I would not be very happy about the form being so long and having to scroll so far down on the page to submit it.  I like to may my sites very user friendly.

    Thanks,

    Mary

    Hi mb1313,

    To reduce the distance between question "Question Spacing", just simply go to Setup & Embed > Preferences > Field Styles.

    Hope you find this helpful and if you need further assistance, feel free to contact us at anytime.

    Thank you!

    Thank you so much.  It is really great to find this site and know that I can get my questions answered.

    I have one more question.  I have put in a second date and time field, but I only really need the time field.  This way I can have a Start Time and an End Time.  Is there a way to edit this before I download my code to my website.  I am always afraid that I will take out too much code if I try to do it myself.

    Thanks

    Also, the person who tested this by sending a reservation request suggested that I put in defaults for the minutes as most people who reserve our clubhouse start and end on the 0-hour.

    Thanks so much,

    Hi Mary,

    I worked hard to help you :)

    Try to inject this custom css code:

    #month_20{

    display: none;

    }

    #day_20{

    display: none;

    }

    #year_20{

    display: none;

    }

    #month_28{

    display: none;

    }

    #day_28{

    display: none;

    }

    #year_28{

    display: none;

    }

    #sublabel_month{

    display: none;

    }

    #sublabel_day{

    display: none;

    }

    #sublabel_year{

    display: none;

    }

    #q20_dateAnd[month]{

    display: none;

    }

    #at_20{

    display: none;

    }

    #at_28{

    display: none;

    }

    .date-separate {

    visibility: hidden;

    }

    and let us know if this satisfy your request.

    Thanks. Alessandro
