Wacom Signature Pad support for form signatures

    We have 71 Wacom Signature Pads in all of our locations and need a way for our clients to use them for signing forms at our desks.  I see that there is a Widget for the Topaz pads.  Would like to know if a method currently exists that would allow me to use the Wacom pads for signature input or if a widget could be created for for it.

    You should be able to use any USB device to sign our regular signature panels.

    That is unless Wacom can only be used with a specific with a specific signature panel.  if that is the case, we can submit a feature request.  Please note that we add features based on overall demand for that feature and since it is not a regularly requested feature, it may not be added.

    It seems that the available widgets simply do not respond to the pad.  I am hoping that it will be possible to get this working or to develop this feature.  Wacom has about 80% of the world's pen tablet/signature pad market, so I am thinking that it may be something that would appeal to a large number of people.

    It looks like the signature pads do not load the form in the pad whereas the pen displays would.  It also looks like there is not an API for Wacom products, only an SDK to allow for integrating the application into your own code.  If there was a way to allow for interacting with the signature panel via API instead of including their SDK and related tools in with our code, it is likely not something we would add.

    Thanks for looking into this.  I appreciate your efforts and research.  I'll see what I can do with Wacom.  If I can make any headway on an API, I'll revisit the topic.

    Basically, it comes down to can we access the pad remotely without having to include their suite of tools in with our code.  If that is possible, which from a very brief look it does not appear to be, it is something we could consider.

    Let us know what Wacom says and we can forward a request along to our developers.

    It is possible to access the pad remotely (e.g., via a web page). The client would need to have the Wacom Signature SDK and the Wacom SigCaptX service installed. The SigCaptX service listens for JSONP HTTPS requests that can be made from the page loaded in the browser.
