Is there a larger date widget?

Is there a larger date widget? Everytime my client fills out my form they get an error at submit because it wasn't clear that the date field was a widget and not a text field. 

I switched the 'date' entry of my form to a short text field to fix it but thought there might be a more clear option?

Instead of using a widget, why not use the default Date Picker field instead?

Is there any particular reason why you're not using this field? If possible, please let us know what you're hoping to do with your date field, what your requirements, how do you expect it to work, etc. Basically, the more info you give us, the better suggestions we can offer.
