Required Fields with show/hide conditions

I have  a field (specifically a PayPal widget where you input the amount to be paid through Paypal) marked as required but it also has a show/hide condition on it.   If a)the condition is not met and b) the field is therefore not shown, and c) the user obviously does not fill in the (hidden) required field, will the submit button allow the form to be submitted provided all other required fields are suitably filled in?

I did a test and believe the answer to be YES...but wanted some confirmation before implementing.

Yes, the form will be submitted if the required field is blank and it is hidden.
