Settings>>Form Language: Swedish translation disappeared for no reason.

    Hi JotForm!

    Our Swedish translations have suddenly disapeared. I have been working with updates in the forum during the day and i guess something must have happened.

    When i change primary language from Swedish to English it is still only English that is show on the form webpage.


    I have also tried to reset our revision history to the form version borh 5 hours and also 3 days ago, but even there the translation is gone (before i even started with the updates). I have attached some screen shots.

    We apologize for the inconvenience, I have checked our logs, and there is nothing that shows the reason of the deletion of your translation. There is also no records in the revision history tool. I have forwarded this to our back-end team to see if it is possible to recover your translation. You will be updated via this thread.

    Hi!

    Any guess when the translation can be re set and back on track? Our client use the service portal we provide daily and is off course keen on getting the Swedish translations back.

    Hi again Jotform!

    Not meaning to stress you, but any update on this issue? Our client is asking us twice a day since it is impacting all service users. So i'm great full for any updates reg this. any guestimation when it can be solved?

    We are terribly apologies for the issue. Our bug solving process is depending on our developer's workload. However, I have contacted our developer and she will inform you as soon as possible.

    Great that you put more attention on this, much appreciated. I just found out that some new translations we made, due to new icon and info on our service portal, now also is gone?? I have attached a screen shot of an example. This was all translated and worked just 2 days ago. So something strange is happening for sure and needs to be solved. Thanks // Jakob

    I'm sorry for the trouble caused to you. Do you mean to say that the translated text is not being displayed correctly? I did check your form and it seems to display the same label or some other text like "text_112" in translation correctly. Please check the screenshot below:

    Do you mean to say that you earlier had translated the text but now it is not being displayed?

    Yes that is correct. I had previously translated the text to Swedish, but now it's all in english instead or says text_112..

    We are sorry the inconvenience you have.

    It looks like your translations corrupted somehow when you changed the primary language (by clicking set primary on translations section). I've checked your usage logs and tried to reproduce the issue on a cloned form but didn't succeed. It looks like a temporary glitch.

    We've also checked the former data to bring back, but all data is lost and i don't think we'll be able to restore it.

    I suggest picking a primary language before creating the form in the future. We'll investigate the problem caused this issue.

    Ok, but so I totally follow now. If I translate it all from scratch into Swedish, is there still a risk it will be corrupted again. Could you please very clearly state exactly what needs to be done to secure my Swedish translation before i start translating it all over again.

    Why my colleague suggested it to set the "Primary Language" of your form and then add the translation. Please check the screenshot below:

    I would suggest you to please go ahead and add translation in your form and get back to us if the issue persists.

    Ok, but the above instruction is the exact way we have been working when translating the form, ie the primary form language is English and then we add a translation in Swedish. But now you mean that the translations won't disappear anymore?

    Please note that the ticket for this issue is already in open status. I would suggest you to please add the translation again and get back to if the issue persists. We will accordingly report to our backend team.

    Seems like the "text type" used on the form is not the same on the form where all translations have dissapered. When copying the text "Välkommen - Vad kan vi hjälpa dig med?" from the cloned form into the "master" form I do not get the same text type? The correct text type only works in the cloned form.

    I have attached an explanation document.

    Could this have to do with all translations gone/corrupted translation??

    No, the font type does not have nothing to do with the translation issue. Please note that the font type can be formatted within each notification's email content. If you need further help on this, please open a new thread.

    Ok, great!

    I just tested to translate the first four parts of our form (Welcome - what...., I want to report a fault..., etc..) from scratch according to your advise. However now the Swedish isn't displayed at all on our service portal page:

    I have also tried several times times to switch the primary language of the form just to test. But the translation part really seems to be corrupted on the form. Please assist us further.
