File upload element with required/unrequired condition doesn't trigger file size error limit.

The Enabled/Required condition on the Projected Image titles is set as (see uploaded image A in Errors.jpg)undefined Screenshot 10

Condition: If the Title field is 'filled' the File (upload) field is 'required'

The error (see uploaded image B in Errors.jpg) should occur prior to submitting if the file is larger than 2048kb.

However once submitted the following error is now provided (see uploaded image C in Errors.jpg)

To test what I've stated above I removed 4 of the 8 Enabled/Required conditions on the following form.

Open Section - PROJECTED IMAGE (With Condition set)

Nature Section - PROJECTED IMAGE (With Condition not set)

The 4 'file uploads' without the Enabled/Required condition functions as it should, but the 4 remaining fields with the Enabled/Required condition are still providing the 'Upload Error' once submitted.

Is this a bug, known issue or expected behavior? We don't want our customers to have to click back and find the issue, the issue should be provided as it usually is i.e. as soon as an oversized file is selected.

    Cheers

I was able to replicate your issue. It seems that manipulating the require/unrequire condition breaks the filesize checker of the upload field.

What I suggest is to show the "File upload" field only if "Title" field is filled or one of the "Eligible for" checkbox is selected. Since it would be quite useless if there is an uploaded file but contains empty title or category.

Please also set "Clear Hidden Field Values" to "Clear on Being Hidden" so that hidden fields will be emptied, it will help the "File Upload" fields to reset and check again if there are show/hide condition changes.

I have cloned your form and applied the "show/hide" conditions instead of the "require/unrequire"

Let us know what you think.

Thanks Marvih for the speedy reply.

That looks like a good work-around, I've made the suggested changes and will see how it goes.

Is it possible to be alerted if my 'issue' is fixed though?

    Cheers.

I have escalated this to our development team, I don't have the exact time-frame of when it will be fixed though.

But we will ensure to notify you when it's done.

PS: Sorry I forgot to give you the link of the form that I cloned from you https://form.jotform.com/73276362597973

Sorry for this inconvenience, have a great weekend.
