Disabling the square widget through conditions

Hi There!

I am using the square widget for payments for a summer camp registration. I would I would for families that need to pay with cash/check or who need a scholarship, I want to allow them to check out without inputting credit card information. I have tried using conditional statements to hide the payment page, un-require the payment field, and disable the payment field. No matter what i try, the form will not submit unless the user puts in credit card info. What am I doing wrong?

Have you considered the purchase order tool? It will record the transaction details, but the user doesn't actually pay. No need for credit card this way. It will submit fine.
