A cloned form is nothing like the original

I cloned a form yesterday to create a new form. It is nothing at all like the original! The original form is all on one page; while the cloned form has each box on a separate page (over 20 pages!) And some of the boxesgive the error "This form component is not available for this form layout." What's going on?
