    how to pre select more than one tick box selections

    I need to have two items selected in my tick boxes but can only find a way of either or ,not both

    This could be possible but you will need to use the Full Source Code on your web site.

    To get full form source code, open your form on the Form Builder:
    1. Open "Setup & Embed" tab on toolbar,
    2. Click on "Embed Form"
    3. Click on "Source" in Gear Icon

    Then, copy the codes to your web site or prefered code editor, and find those checkbox fields. Add  checked="checked" as shown on the example below:

    Before:

    input type="checkbox" class="form-checkbox" id="input_1_0" name="q1_clickTo[]" value="Option 1"

    After:

    input type="checkbox" class="form-checkbox" id="input_1_0" name="q1_clickTo[]" checked="checked" value="Option 1"

    In addition to Rodjit's response, you can also use by mean's of pre-populating your form using URL parameters. 

    Here is one example of a form without any selections.
    http://www.jotform.com/form/10565343954

    While here is the result with pre-selecting / pre-populating values using URL parameters:
    http://www.jotform.com/form/10565343954?pleaseChoose[]=Wood,Gold,Metal,Cheese%20cake
