Delay on spreadsheet to form widget

    Hi

I'm using a spreadsheet to form widget to look up the ID of another form and it takes a second or two to work. A condition then takes the output and combines the prefilled link to that form into a summary field, which is then used as a redirect on submit. The widget is set to run in the background, and the summary field is hidden.

The problem is that if the user clicks submit before it's done, then the widget isn't finished in time and they get redirected to a 404.

Is there a way I can prevent submit until the widget is completed?

    Hi Lee,

Thanks for getting back to us. Just to confirm, does the Spreadsheet to Form widget populate the 'FormID' field if the value passed to it yields a match? Then, the 'FormID' is used as part of constructing the 'OutputLink', correct?

You can prevent the submit button from being activated until the widget is completed by applying a form condition to check if the 'FormID' is empty or not. It is possible to hide the Submit button if the 'FormID' is empty.

    1. In the Form Builder, click the Settings tab.
    2. On the left side menu, click the Conditions tab.
    3. Create a Show/Hide Field condition, and set to hide the Submit button if the 'FormID' is empty.

If that’s not exactly the issue with your form, can you explain a bit more, or share with us the Excel file, so we can help you better?

I've moved away from using the spreadsheet to using calculation values in a dropdown. Much more flexible and easy to work with.
