Want to include Canadian and Mexican states in the state dropdown

We are an organization that only works in the Western US, Canada, and Mexico. We have been getting a lot of junk sign ups on our membership form from people outside of our service area, in Pakistan, Nigeria, etc. We also mail our magazine to addresses in North America but not outside.

We would like to require that people select a state abbreviation from the dropdown that includes Canadian and Mexican state codes (e.g AB, BC, MB, etc.) so that people from those places can sign up but others will be declined/errored out.

This would also ensure that our zapier integration with our CRM fires appropriately, since the text box field for state complicates things immensely (misspelled states cause it to error regularly).

What can we do?

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Based on your requirements, you can add the All States and Cities Widget. Using this widget, you have the option to include countries that you like to fill out the form. Let me show you how:

1. Open your form in Form Builder, and in the left part click on Add Form Element.

2. Go to Widgets and look for All States and Cities.

3. Once the widget is added, it will open the settings. Under General, you can put the countries.
