How can I hide a conditionally hidden field on the submission PDF?

Hello, I have a form with show/hide conditional formatting. When the form is completed and a pdf copy is emailed to me all the heading/paragraph fields come through, even the ones that should remain hidden based on the results of the conditions selected.

I only want the pdf to show the fields that are relevant based on the conditions selected. How do I do this? Thank you.

Thanks for contacting Jotform support. I’m sorry you're having issues with your form. To ensure that empty or conditionally hidden fields don't appear on the PDF copy of your completed form, we can adjust the Advanced Settings of your Notification Email. Let me show you how:

1. On your Form Builder, click the Settings from the orange tabs.
2. Select Emails from the left panel.
3. Click the pencil icon beside your notification email.
4. Under Advanced, scroll down a bit and toggle on Hide Empty Fields.
5. Click Save. That's it!

Hello, I have done this. It works for emails but any pdf attachment contains everything. How do I change this?

Thanks for getting back to us. I'm sorry you're still having issues with your form. When I cloned and tested your form, the same thing happened for me. I've noticed that you added Heading Fields to the form, please note that they will always be displayed even if we have enabled hide the empty fields since they are non-input fields.

I suggest creating three separate PDFs for Green, Orange and Red/Black. Edit the PDF to display only the fields that should be shown based on the selected option. Let me walk you through:

• On your Form Builder, click the arrow down from the top left of your screen.
• Then, click PDF Editor.

• Click the 3 vertical dots beside your PDF filename.
• Then, click duplicate twice to create two more copies of the file.
• Double-click the file name of each tab and rename them to Green, Orange, Red/Black.
• Modify each PDF file to only show the fields depending on the answer selected.

Create three separate Notification emails as well for these options.

• On your Form Builder, go to Settings from the orange tabs.
• Click Emails from the left, and add a notification email that corresponds to each of the options.
• To ensure that the PDF attachment is correct, go to Advanced tab.
• Toggle on the Attach PDF option, and select the correct PDF file you would like to attach.

It should look like this:

Finally, let's set up a Change E-mail recipient condition logic to send the Notification email together with the corresponding PDF attachment based on the selected options from the What risk category does working off ladders fall into? field.

• On your Form Builder, go to the Settings tab.
• Click the Conditions from the left.
• Select the Change E-mail Recipient.
• Enter the condition shown in the example below.

For this example, we selected Green:

Depending on the selected value from the field What risk category does working off ladders fall into?, it will send the Notification email you select to send.
