Approval Flow: How to manipulate submissions that are already in the form before the Approval Flow was set up?

    Hi,

I created an approval flow so that I could sort students into two cohorts. I wanted an email to automatically go out as I assign cohorts. I have the emails and approval flow all put together, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. It seems like submissions that came in before the approval flow was set up aren't included in that process? The option to assign a cohort isn't given for students who show as "approved" in the first step, but who submitted before I set up the cohorts condition.

Is there a different way to go about this? I'm supposed to be sending out these emails tonight!

    Thank you for your help,

    Kristina

    Hi Kristina,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. Yes, that is correct. Submissions that are already in the form before the Approval Flow is set up are not affected by the newly created Approval Flow. It will only influence the submissions submitted after the Approval Flow is set up.

We can create a feature request for it, but when or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it.

Let us know if you want us to proceed with sending a feature request.
