How to adjust the crop size of the File Uploader by Upload Care Widget?

I’d like to customize this widget, specifically the crop feature. Is there any way to get a 4x4 set of guide lines to appear when I crop?

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I am sorry you are having trouble with this. You can adjust the crop size of the widget in the Widget's settings. Let me show you how:

1. In Form Builder, click on the File Uploader by Upload Care Widget, and click on the Wand icon.
2. Then, adjust the Crop Width and Crop Height. That's it.

Reach out again if you have any other questions.

I know all that. When you do that there is still just a basic box and you drag the corners around.

It is very imprecise and hard to perfectly center images. Guidelines or grid lines within the bounding box would be extremely helpful.

Thanks for getting back to us. Yes, there is. You can remove the Crop Width and Height to 100% and select Free Crop from the Crop dropdown. Check out this screencast below for the result:

No - this isn’t what I’m looking for. I want the guidelines AND the set aspect ratio. Not OR.

Free crop is not helpful.

I want a precisely sized, precisely oriented upload.

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, we don't have the exact guidelines for cropping the images, since it can be done freely depending on what the user needs. I found a guideline on this link which may help you get a precise ratio of the image.

I know how to get the precise ratio. I want the guidelines / grid lines within the bounding box, when using the precise ratio.

Thanks for getting back to us. Unfortunately, there is no option to add grid lines when cropping using the File Uploader by Upload Care Widget. We can go ahead and raise this as a feature request to the Developer Team but when or if it's implemented depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it. Would you like to proceed?

In the meantime, you can use third-party photo editing apps to precisely crop your image. I found this online image cropper with grid lines. You can use it to precisely crop your image before uploading it.
