Dynamic Text Area with Character Limit

Is there a way to make the text area dynamic and have a character limit?

Each row would be a date picker box and then a text area box. The text area would be used to report activity for that day. It would be may be sentence of up to 800 characters like a paragraph. Then when add row is clicked, a new date box and text area box appears for the next day to report activity.

Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. Currently, the long text field has an option to limit the maximum/minimum amount of text allowed. If you want to use character limit, you would have to use the Short text field. We also have the Dynamic Text box widget wherein you can also input a character limit to it. Let me show you how to add it:

1. In Form Builder, click Add Form Element on the left-hand side of the page.
2. Go to Widgets tab and search for Dynamic Text box.
3. Drag and drop the widget into the form and click the wand icon.
4. Under the Size option, you can input a number to increase the character limits allowed.
5. Click Update Widget to apply the changes.

Now, if you are looking to set validation and limit for fields in a configurable list, then it is not currently available to limit the number of characters that can be entered into the Configurable List widget text box. We can have this escalated as a feature request. When or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users request it.
