In the case of wanting to do things like set an iFrame to display a PDF which was uploaded to an upload field on a form etc.

This seriously needs to be re-thought by JotForm

Here at JotForm, we care about our users and their needs. As I understood you aware of uploading PDF document using text editor feature and you think that this feature should be improved.

Did you checked our PDF embedder widget which might be the one you need:

Could you please provide us more details about your expectations in this regard and how we can improve this feature to meet your expectations?

    Hi Tina,

Unfortunately that widget does not cover the needs of most users. I am talking about displaying a PDF on a form based on an upload field.

So the PDF displayed is dependent on the PDF uploaded on each submission of the same form.

This would be possible using the text editor field if you could pass variables to the code editor:

    <iframe style="width: 100%; height: 600px; border: none;" src={pdf}></iframe>

Unfortunately Jotform has not made passing variables into the text editor possible and therefore this solution does not work.

Similarly the HTML (tel:123-456-789) function also doesn't work. The free text editor needs major refactoring as it cannot accommodate even the most basic requirements.

It is possible to pass form field values to the Text field. Here's a guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/418-Pass-an-Input-Field-to-a-Text-Field

However, it is not possible for the Text field to show the content of the uploaded PDF file as a preview. You can view the uploaded files on the Submissions page or in the email alerts.

In the Advanced tab of the email alert, you can turn on the "Send Uploads as Attachment" option.

    Thank you for your undertanding.

    Hi Jan,

Exactly what I was talking about when I said the text field is under-powered.

It it ridiculous that it cant dynamically enter a fields value into the HTML:

    <iframe style="width: 100%; height: 600px; border: none;" src={pdf}></iframe>

When viewing the submission using an edit URL.

And what is even more ridiculous is that you cant actually make a phone number clickable to call using the HTML (tel:) function.

Both features are basic and should be available on a form builder like JotForm.

Sending files as attachments will never suffice for us as we need to constantly edit and revisit submissions. Filtering through emails is not viable.

    Thank You
