    Hi SZ,

Thank you for reaching out to Jotform Support. The reason, it will ask your signers to enter their name and email address before signing the document, is because that is how Jotform Sign is designed to work. It serves as a security layer, an indication that the one filling out the document is the invited individual to sign it.

Reach out again if you have any other questions.

ok, and should I still have a field for name and email? seems that it's already capturing name and email when I did a test removing name and email field from form. Would waiver still be valid if there is no name field ?

Seems weird they have to put name twice so if I can just capture name and email through that security later, then I don't need to include a name /email field.

    thank you,

    Monica

    Hi Monica,

Thanks for getting back to us. The pop-up that asks for the name and field only appears when your document is shared using the link. If you invite a user through email, they won't have to enter their name twice.

Unfortunately, when using the link, the name field does not get populated automatically based on the data entered on the pop up. We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.
