Is there a way to update the field so that the email notification alerts the recipient that an upload was made?

Is there a way to update the field so that the email notification alerts
the recipient that an upload was made (and is accessible by logging in to
jotform account)? Essentially, I just need the field to show y/n if form(s)
were uploaded, but *not* to include the form itself.

Is that what you're trying to achieve? When the user did not upload, the email alert will say that there's no attachment file added and vice versa when the user successfully uploaded a file.

In the demo form, I added a new hidden field that will be updated depending on the File Upload status. I also used the Update/Calculate field condition. Here's the result of my test:

1. With an attachment file.
