    How do I capture date of form submission?

    Embedded in my auto-response email I'd like a date/time field that states the date/time of form submission.  I can't figure out how to do this.  I am aware of the date type text box.  However, this is a user-editable field and, thus, would not be the best solution.  Can you suggest another solution?

    Hello primesunselect. This section of our User Guide is about using dates/times in email templates. In case you were wondering, by default, all JotForm form records include a date/time field in the format of YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS (your local time). It can be excluded from the records by clicking the Configure Records Display button (it resembles a gear - under the word "Delete" in the screenshot) and un-checking that item.

    Getting back to your specific question, I suspect that you didn't necessarily want to have the date as one of the "fields" in the tabular data of the notification and/or autoresponse per se, so long as it was included in the message. However, if you tend to want to see things neatly presented (like I normally do), an extra row can be added to accommodate Submitted Date and Time, as illustrated but it will not show up in the form's records.     Hello, I'd like to see the screenshot of this, but it does not load.  It must be because the posting is very old.  However I would like to have this option if possible as the original poster
