Field Manager App - copy multiple fields from one form to the other

Hello. The only answers about how to copy and move/add fields from one form to another say to use the Field Manager App. I do not like the fact that using this app appears to compromise form security and opens up your forms to access for all, so would rather not use it. Is there a way to do this without using the app, please?

    Thank you!

    Hi CAPECO,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I’ll need a bit of time to look into this. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

    Hi CAPECO,

Thanks for patiently waiting while I look into this. I've tried to copy several form fields from one form to another, but nothing worked. Unfortunately, it seems like the only option we have right now is the Field Manager App. You can also check this guide for more details on How to Copy Fields From One Form to Another. Could you tell us why you are concerned about the security?

After we hear back from you, we’ll have a better idea of what’s going on and how to help.

The form I'm working on provides information to a government agency and I would prefer not to share this particular form, if possible.

This is simply my opinion, but if the capability does not currently exist in Jotform to perform a simple copy/paste form fields from one form to another and you have to use a separate app just to accomplish that task, perhaps the Jotform developers should work on creating an internal program solution? I think a lot of clients would probably appreciate that.

Thanks for your prompt response, and for trying to find a solution anyway.

    Regards.

I do have another question, please.

This is what the "Field Manager" app, specifically states:

Field Manager App copy multiple fields from one form to the other Image 1 Screenshot 20

When it states that Field Manager will be able to "Access your forms" does this mean that our completed, online submitted forms library is accessible and open for all to see, or is it referring to just the empty forms? Also, what exactly is "external data" that "anyone with access can see this data"? These are important details that are not stated clearly in Field Manager.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you.

    Hi CAPECO,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. The "Access your forms" is literally referring to the form itself only. Form and Submission data are a separate entity. The external data is referring to the information that is open for public, like the form field labels. The Field Manager App wanted to be transparent at all means, and that's why it's asking for permission to allow these things.

No information is saved within the app. Once you're done with the task and exits the app, that also erase any trace of your activity. It will ask you the same permission every time that you access this app. This app is purposely developed by the Jotform Developers to use it on their daily task activity. But seems also helpful for Jotform customers, so they opened it to the public.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
