Good evening, I have a problem, resolved that I create a database in Excel that I attach to a form and use a widget called form calculation, it turns out that I need to update the file, but the original was deleted. How can I recover the file that I have attached to the windget? Since I only have the option to delete it and upload it again.

    Hi aaicinformatica,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I can see that this is very stressful. Rest assured, I’m here to help.  Do you mean the submission data of your forms? It's easy to restore your deleted entries. Let me show you how:

    • On the Jotform Tables page, under the Form tab, click on the Three Dots icon.
    • In the dropdown list, click on Trashed Entries.
    • In the window that comes up on the right side of the page, choose the Deleted Submission.
    • Click on Restore and that's it.

If that’s not exactly what you’re looking for, can you explain a bit more so I can help you better? Also, can you provide us the link to your form so we can look into it.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Hi aaicinformatica,

Thanks for getting back to us. I understand that you're referring to the excel file that's uploaded in the widget now. Do you mean that you have deleted the excel file that you've uploaded before and you want to restore it now? Please note that there is no option to download the Excel file that you've uploaded in the widget. You can only choose to delete it and replace it with another file.

Reach out again if you need any other help.

    Hi aaicinformatica,

Thanks for getting back to us. I understand that you're looking to restore a deleted file in the widget. Unfortunately, once a file is deleted from the widget, it's permanently removed from our system. This means we don't have the ability to restore it. I understand how difficult and upsetting this is, and I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. I'm here to help in any way I can.

I understand that part, but the file is still there, I have not deleted it, it is still in the widget, I just need to recover it to be able to edit it, since the original was deleted. the file is still in the widget, in the form, it is currently there.

    Hi aaicinformatica,

Thanks for getting back to us. I’m really sorry that this is happening. We've gone ahead and escalated your request to our developers, but when or if it's developed depends on their workload, how viable it is, and how many other users also request it. If there are any updates, we’ll circle back to this thread and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, we appreciate it.

Apart from the fact that I have lost the original file, it is super tedious if I am going to include new data in the file to have to delete the file and upload a new one again, it is functional.

    Hi aaicinformatica,

Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I’m sorry you're having difficulties getting that feature to work. Unfortunately when you update the data in your spreadsheet you have to download the updated version and remove the old version from Spreadsheet to Form widget and upload the updated version.

Reach out again if there’s anything else we can do for you.
