Add/update fields and Forms do NOT work!

Asked by BrettBGS on February 24, 2011 at 02:53 PM

    Hi,

I started trying out JotForm, I got a nice form, and it worked fine for a few test submissions (live).  THen, I started changing the form, updating the fields, and changing just simple things like field size and form width.  Now notifications DO NOT WORK.

When I go to the Notification screen, I always see fields like this: {fullname19}, etc, etc...  when I delete the fields with the numbers on the end, I can get the TEST Email to work, but of course, missing the fields that I need to see.  When I add them back in, the test Email does not work, and the form NEVER REPLIES TO ME!

I can't see how anyone can rely on your services with such problems.

Any idea when this will ever be fixed?  And how can I rely on it, assuming it is fixed, as obviously anyone could have these problems at any time.  I cannot rely on a form that I only receive when things are 'just right'!

    Thanks,

    -B

    Hi Brett,

Have you deleted the form?  I see only one form on your account and it has no submissions.  That form seems fine, but if you are still having problem please do get back to me.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

    Daniel,

Thank you for the reply... here is what I found...

Yes, I deleted the form, I added a new form, I tried deleting fields nothing works.  Whenver I add a new form, then try to remove the 'First Name Last Name' fields and replace them with Full Name field, I cannot get the Notifications to work.

As I said in previous message, looking at the Notification Form in Text mode, you can see the fields have a name like: {fullname15}, whenever that happens, the notifications no longer work.  If I remove that field with the number, the notifications will work, but of course, the notifications no longer have all the data, as full name will now be missing!

I'm surprise this does not come up all the time, is it limited only to my account?

Thanks for your help in advance,

    -Brett

Are you still experiencing this notification problem? I tried duplicating your form and it seems to run OK.  I received the notifications with all the contents intact

    Please let us know.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Yes, I still do not receive notification, notice: {yourEmail16}  - if I change that to {youremail} the notification works, but then it does NOT include the email that was sent from the form.

This can also be duplciated with other fields I add/remove or edit.

As I stated, it makes JotForm.com unreliable, if this cannot be fixed.

    Thank you,

    -Brett

    @BrettBGS

I cannot re-create this problem. Do you still have this problematic form? or can you create this problem again?

    Thanks.
