I am trying to limit selection of dates between certain dates but it doesn't work

I have had this issue on this form before and I believe because I am in Australia and use the format dd/mm/yyyy that this doesn't work. Without changing the format I want to limit the users to only enter a date between 30/05/2018 and 30/06/2019, and the can only enter a date that is not in the future compared to the current date.

You can set the Start and End date of the Date Picker field in the Properties page under the Limits tab. Here's a screenshot sample:
