    font size changing from one part of form to the next

    Asked by georgiaboyheath on November 28, 2012 at 11:18 PM

    Why is my font size changing from the text or dropdown boxes at the beginning of my form to much larger sizes? i've checked form styles to make certain that it is set to 12 but it isn't changing many of the last parts of my form? what gives?

    BTW, this should have been a 2 hour project that has been 10 hours... seems like the forms are buggy. slow to save and load, glitchy and not holding or making changes...

    really liked what you have to offer but i should have been done a long time ago...i have to get this finished tonight for a meeting tomorrow!

    no screen shot or URL, working straight from website.

    Hello Heath.  Can you provide us a link to the webpage that you're working on?  I'm pretty sure with just a proper CSS coding, this can be resolved in a few minutes.

    We'll wait for your response.

    Thanks.

    Now i have lost half of my second page (on the preview)! What is happening?? Please help...I have spent hours on this stuff and need it for a meeting tomorrow and we were planning on using your company with an upgrade plan but I'm having a difficult time justifying it - it's a relatively simple form...

    Thank you for your response, Heath.  And we do understand the frustration as we experience that too once in a while.

    I just noticed a few things on your form.  1st is the paragraphs, it appears that some of them happened to be copy-pasted directly from a rich-text editor (such as MS Word) as there appears to be some HTML classes that usually used by MS word documents. The best fix to do this is to copy the paragraph from the document and then paste it to Notepad.  Then copy again the pasted data on your notepad then paste it to the Free Text (HTML) to make sure that the pasted data is clean from any sorts of formatting from the document.

    Now regarding your font sizes for the textbox and dropdowns.  You can force the page to use this styling by using CSS injection on your form:

    input[type=text] { font-size: 12px !important; }
    select {font-size: 12px !important; }

    If you need to know how to inject CSS on your form, please follow this user guide.

    i used the CSS injection and it didn't work - what next?

    thanks on the Notepad, will change that momentarily.

    now I have a matrix box thatis showing up for no reason - literally. i rechecked the condition boxes and the form collapses - nothing was altered.

    I checked the form and the contents of the dropbox have appeared to have increased in size for a bit.  Feel free to modify the pixel value of the font sizes to see that it works.

    Do you have someone else working on the form?  I haven't touched your form yet so I'm not sure how it ended up that there appears to be a matrix.

    In addition, may I suggest to use the sets of fields using conditions alone, instead of adding a collapse field.  We have also recently changed the conditions settings so you can add more 'Then' statements in your conditions.

    Using the new conditions feature above, here is how I came up with from the form I cloned from yours: http://www.jotformpro.com/form/23330517928959

    Feel free to use the form if you like :)

    Hi,

    I used the matrix because i read one of your employees support forums on how to do that to make the nuber of fields needed for the number total selected.

    i used form collapse because it was in your user guide.

    will all fields use conditons?

    Sorry, what I was saying was that I did not touch your form so I have no idea why it showed up there when it's supposed to be hidden.

    As for your thoughts about the form collapse, that's fine if you choose to work on the form collapse.  Although there were known issues with working on form collapses and page breaks in one form.  I just shared with you the form I cloned form you and reworked it using the newly updated condtions option.

    Yes, the fields which were under the form collapse are using conditions to show/hide.  Feel free to clone the form to explore the conditions I set in place to find out how the conditions look like.  If you need to know how to clone a form, you can find it on this user guide.
