    Make the field required by editing the source code

    Asked by michaelangelo on December 19, 2012 at 08:25 PM

    When I was building the form I failed to make some fields a required field to fill out.   Because visually I wasn't able to accomplish what I wanted via your interface, I downloaded the code and made the changes to the code. Everything works fine accept I'm trying to change the required fields and need to know what files need to be updated. I replaced the JS folder to the new one after making the changes via Jotform site and I updated the css <span class="form-required">*</span> to the fields that needed it.  Still it doesn't give a message when they are left empty. What else do I need to change?  Again, visually it looks fine and the form is working well but it doesn't seem to respond to empty fields that I now want to be required to be filled out. Pleaes let me know what else besides the JS files I need to update.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    To make it required, you just need to append this code validate[required] on the field class. Example:

    <input type="text" class="form-textbox validate[required]" id="input_8" name="q8_mobileNumbers" size="20">
