Invoice Form .. with a difference!

Asked by mindyourpaws on January 01, 2013 at 02:06 PM

    Hi,

I need to create a form to put onto my wordpress site, but .. this form needs to arrive in my inbox looking like an invoice!

It's basically going to be a way for the self employed people that work for me to put down the hours that they have done for that month along with their personal details etc, hit submit, then I can simply use it as their invoice to me.

I need to be able to add some permanant information such as it being addressed to me etc.

I've been using Jotform for 1-2 months now & I like the way it works, but I'm also aware of how the completed forms appear in my inbox & I'm fairly certain that format wouldn't work for me .. unless there is something I have overlooked.

    What can you suggest?

    Kind regards

    Andy Foster

Let me please inform you that the Email Notification body is fully editable. Just open your Email Notification, and you will see the Editor, use the correct {field_tags} to receive the form data from them.

You may also switch the Email Notification body between HTML and Plain Text formats.

If you need some professional invoices you may try our integration with a Freshbooks service:

Create Invoices from Forms Using Freshbooks Integration

Please feel free to contact us if you need any further assistance on this.

Hi, thanks for the quick response.
I actually use Freshbooks for my invoices already, having just had a play about with your integration, I'm not sure how this set-up works.
I've read your attachment on it, but I don't really understand, how you elaborate.
    Thanks

    Hi Andy,

Please provide us more details which part you are having trouble applying.

Are you not able to integrate the form to Freshbooks?

The link Create-Invoices-from-Forms-Using-Freshbooks-Integration provided by Mike_T, can guide you exactly how to integrate the form.

Please update us when you can.

    Thanks.

I'm integrating ok, but if a user wanted to add/buy, say, 14 x of an item, how do they go about that as I'm only getting the option to tick one box?

If I am understanding you correctly, what you wanted to do is to add a quantity option on your My Products in the payment form.

You can add the quantity option by using the payment field configuration wizard

    then follow this steps:

    1. Select the item.

    2. Click Add New option

    3. Select Add Quantity Property.

You can do this for each of your item, and they will have Quantity options.

Please inform us if this is not what you were looking for.

    Thanks

    That's worked a treat, thanks!
One more thing, because the invoice will always be going to the same customer, is there any way of the customer's email address being a permanent fixture so that it doesn't always have to be entered manually?

    Hi Andy,

Are you referring to the form's Notification email? Please see this article -Setting-Up-Email-Notifications

The email address field you added in your form is for the invoice information details -- it does not have to be the target notification email address field too.

You can also use condition email (see this guide) to make the submissions email always send to the same email account.

Please inform us if you need further help on this.

    Thanks.

Yeah, basically I'd like the FreshBooks invoice to go to the customer without actually having to enter the customers email address (ideally)

You can add your client's email in the Notification email as the recipient

Or, you can also check Freshbooks, as it has the feature to add clients which can be the recipient of your invoices.

    Hope this help.

    Thanks.
