When integrating JotForm with other databases, by means of the custom thank you page capturing the POST data, field names are really a problem as these are not very descriptive (JotForms uses the first letters of a field label and numbers for field names). One has to dig through the POST data and try to make sense of it all (I use krumo for this, but it still a pain).
It would be really wonderful to have the possibility to set custom fieldnames, and a great a addition to this very amazing tool!

Thank you for your suggestion. It is something we discussed a lot. In the end, we are always striving to be the best form builder for people who are not programmers. We can provide a lot of these kinds of features for advanced users. As programmers we also want to do that. But we have to find a balance and stay away from providing too many options.
Anyways, I added your suggestion to feature requests list.
One possible solution might be to add this PHP code to your Thank You page:
<? print_r($_POST); ?>
This will give you a list of field names you can use.
