Please check the Client ID and Secret keys are correctly set. It seems both the field is wrongly setup.

Generally, this issue occurs when the credentials used are incorrect or incorrect payment mode is selected (live or sandbox). We request you to check the credentials used on the form and change them accordingly in the payment wizard. Also, please make sure that there are no leading or trialling spaces in the credentials used.

I followed your instructions and now I have this error message.

Authentication failed error is usually due to wrong credentials provided in the payment field settings.
In your PayPal Checkout payment field, make sure the Client ID and Client Secret info are correct.
