Hi, I think there is a bug in the way you update existing leads (or contacts). If I lead has been converted (thus is no longer a lead) an update is attempted, even though the object is no longer searchable in salesforce. So we lose the form info because it neither goes to the contact that has taken its place nor does it create a new lead.

Which of the form in your account is currently integrated with Salesforce? We can create a ticket here, but we need to know your settings first for investigation and troubleshooting purposes.

In the 'Duplicate Check' dropdown, you have two options there. To know which option works best for you, please check the below guide:

Just providing some feedback here --

I understand the duplicate checking options -- what I'm explaining is different. WHEN a duplicate is identified, that duplicate may be a lead that had been converted to contact (thus NOT a lead anymore). This old lead will still show up when querying via the salesforce api with the value converted = TRUE which is why JOTFORM attempts to update it.

BUT the updates don't work for converted leads because they no longer allow for updates and we cannot even see this lead object in the sales force UI.

I think the best solution in these instances is to create a new lead since the duplicate you've identified can't be updated. That way no information is lost.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion. I will forward this as a feature request to our back-end team. If your suggestion to change the way existing leads are updated is implemented in the future, you will be notified via this thread.
