Images not displaying in Email Responses/Notifications

    I've looked through the forum for the correct tag to have the image automatically display in both the email notification and confirmation email sent to the customer.

    Apparently, others have had success with {IMG:uploadField:200:150} — however, it's just showing up blank for me. I've tried several other merge tags which were also unsuccessful.

    Here's a link to the form

    Does anyone know what I'm missing?

    Hi,

    That is because of the field styling that is overwritten with <span> tag. This happen sometimes when the text is pasted from the other sources.

    Please try it once again. I have it fixed for you.

    Thanks

    Thanks Welvin,

    I'm actually adding this tag to two email responses for 9 different forms. Is there a way to avoid making the same mistake I made before?

    Thanks again,

    Andy

    Hello again,

    A link to download the image appears, however the image does not automatically appear in the email. Is it possible to do this?

    Thanks,

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

    You can edit your form notifications HTML Editor and remove the extra <p><span></span</p> tags from the codes. From your Form Notifications window, click the HTML button;

    A window  from your notifications will appear, just please find the highlighted codes given on the image on my first response.

    If you hate to do it this way, you can re-create the notifications but please make sure to only click the upload field (Image) on left side, do not copy from other sources.

    Thanks

    -That is because you have switch the editor from HTML to TEXT only.

    Please switch it back if you want to see the image directly into your form notification.

    Thanks

    Now I think you will have to re-create the whole notifications because switching it back to HTML Mode will not align the whole fields, questions and the answers.

    Thanks

    Hello again Welvin,

    I started over and created the auto responses from scratch using the upload image code from the tag panel. For some reason it still comes in as a blue box with a question mark in several different browsers and email apps. I haven't added dimensions or altered the default tag in any way.

    I've attached a screen shot that shows exactly how it looks in gmail. For the most part, people on our end of the form will be viewing it in Microsoft Outlook— but it's displaying the same way there.

    Hello Andy, I was able to replicate the same problem after filling in your form with a test submission. I also tested your form with multiple files turned off just to check on that as a possible problem but there was no issue with it and along with that I doublechecked your filetypes and filesizes but they both looked good. In addition to this I have cleared your forms cache from our end and tested it again but that did not help either so I think at this point there is a bug with the uploader on your form so I am forwarding this issue for our developers to look deeper into and we will notify you as soon as we can once we figure out what is going on.

    In addition, please try to add a height and width attribute to the field tag. So, it will looks like this;

    {IMG:uploadYour:100:100} will create a thumbnail size to the email notification or auto responder unlike using only {IMG:uploadYour} will give you the whole size of the uploaded image file which I think causing this problem to happen.

    Please try this and let us know if it works or not.

    PS: Do not copy and paste, type it manually on the auto responder/notification.

    Thanks

    It appears to be working now. I added the ::100 attribute earlier with no success, but whatever you guys did worked.

    Thanks!
