It would be helpful on the conditions field to be able to use two field

Asked by WCSPC on February 23, 2013 at 08:27 PM

It would be helpful on the conditions field to be able to use two fields together with an 'and'

'If' field is equal to 'value'

    'and'

field is not equal to 'value'

This would enable me to achieve what I want with my current form.

    Thanks

    Hi WCSPC,

To use 'and' on your conditions field, you need to add three rules. First is "if field is equal to value ", second is "if field is not equal to value" and third is if second field "is Filled", this will require the user to enter a value on the second field because if second field is blank that means it's not equal to any value".

On the red box, there are 2 choices(Any/All). Any = or , All = and.

    I hope this helps you.

Glen sorry to be so dumb but I cannot make this option work in the context
    of my form.
I am trying to skip pages and you may have a better solution. This is a
membership application form and I want some users to skip to two different
pages from the same source (a radio button) depending upon their answers
and how the drop down boxes have been completed.
Radio button options are simply 'yes' or 'no'
I need a condition that allows people who say 'no' and field 'is not equal'
to the same 'value' in 'any' of 4 drop down lists to go to page 7.
and people who say 'no' and field is 'equal to' the same value in 'any' of
4 drop down lists to skip to page 8
The problem is the condition options as they do not fit with 'all' or 'any'
    in the senarios.
People who say 'yes' just click next and are easy to deal with.
I do not know if you are able to assist at this basic level - but if you
have an answer this is a challenge that I would like to find a fix for. I
hope it does not requires a major form rebuild..
I did think about using form collapse to remove one of the options to make
it simpler but I cannot make the page break field on the form show beyond
the collapse stopper no matter how I set the visible/hidden and open/closed
    options.
If you are able to make it clear to me what to do then great if not people
will just have to skip a page which is not a terrible option. Of course my
explanation above would have to be clear too. Good luck with that one.

    Hi Sue,

I think adding Multiple Rule and Setting your Condition to "IF ALL" will accomplish the same function of having the "AND" option. We'll, I need to understand the whole details of the function that you'd like to have on your form. If you can demostrate that to us, that would be very helpful but don't bother yourself doing that.

As what Glenn Lee have stated, please share with us your form URL so we can check and help you about that.

    Thanks

I have a similar problem.... I have a booking form requesting the names of passengers in an entrants car. I have tried to use the "conditions" to control the number of fields that appear depending on the number of people in the car.

'Please enter the number of passengers' 0 (zero) would show no field names for passengers

1 passenger would show a the first and last name fields named 'passenger 1'
2 passengers would show a the first and last name fields named 'passenger 1' and 'passenger 2'
3 passengers would show a the first and last name fields named 'passenger 1', 'passenger 2' and 'passenger 3'

There is a limit of three passengers.

An 'and' function would be of help, as far as I can see the 'all' function does not really do the same thing as the 'and' function that I am used to using in Gravity Forms

URL for the Form is http://www.jotform.com//?formID=33484219131349

Hope you can claify this for me.

PS I like JotForm more than Grvity Forms if that is of interest to you !!
