Upload Field: Hyperlink to a File Name in Thank You Message

    I have an uploads form. When it's submitted, I get an email notification and in that notification there is a list of file names submitted, each with a link to the uploaded file.

    So it will look something like this:

    myfirst.jpg

    mysecond.jpg

    and you can click on them and get the file. When I look at the code in jotform on the email submission template, it looks like this {uploadA}

    So I inserted that code into my thank you page, but instead of getting a link to the file name, I get the entire URL

    How can I make a link in the thank you page the same way it appears in the emails I recieve?

    Hi,

    I've check your form notification and all were fine, please try this:

    1. Delete the existing notification: How to Delete Notifications/Autoresponder

    2. Create new notification: Setting Up Email Notifications

    After this, test your form and let us know for the results.

    Thanks

    This makes no sense at all. The email notification works fine. It is the thank you page that doesn't display the URL the way I want it.

    Please try again.

    On the email notification the code {uploadA} displays the file name only, bu the file name is hot link and it works correctly.

    On the Thank you page the very same code displays the entire URL but it is not hotlinked, as referenced above. How do I make the thank you page display the file name in the same way as the email.

    Apologize for misunderstanding your inquiry. Unfortunately, it will only show as link.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    You may also consider adding an image height and width attribute to the upload fields such as: {IMG:uploadA:100:100}

    This will show a thumbnail of 100px by 100px to the thank you page for the uploaded images. Please try that as a workaround.

    Thanks

    Thanks Welvin

    I did figure out the {IMG:uploadA} workaround. However, I don't want that thank you page rendering images. It can take time with large images and is a potential problem.

    There must be a way. How is the email translating that code in a way the thank you page cannot?

    thanks

    Hi,

    You can specify a height and width attribute to the uploaded images, put a variable such;

    {IMG:uploadA:100:100}

    This will create a thumbnail to the thank you page. Example: http://www.jotformpro.com/form/23016627372955, test this form so you will see the result.

    Apologize but only our developers know that matter. I have this thread forwarded to them for further checking. We'll let you know on this thread if we come up with updates.

    Thanks

    Thanks

    Like I said, I figured out the thumbnail option but I don't want to display thumbnails on the thank you page. sometimes people send me really large image files and the thumbnailing can cause the page to hang and be slow, so from a programming perspective that's not a great solution. It's slow for the user and hard on the server CPU. I just want the filename that's hotlinked.

    The code might look something like this <a target="_blank" href="{uploadA}">{uploadA:filename}</a>

    But I can't figure out what that actual code is that would work in the same way as when the form sends email notification.

    The given HTML codes is right but it won't work in the Thank You Message. It will create a wrong link. This thread is already forwarded to our developers and already been assigned. We will surely let you know if we come up with updates from them.

    Thanks

    Hello bellevuefineart.  We have just added a feature that should complement your request.

    If you wish to make your Thank you message to show only the file name, you can use this method:

         {FILENAME:uploadA}

    If you wish for it to become clickable, you can proceed with creating an HTML link like this:

         <a target="_blank" href="{uploadA}">{FILENAME:uploadA}</a>

    If you have further questions or concerns, please do let us know.

    Thanks.
