    Hi there,

Thank you very much for using JotForm!

If I understand you right, you are trying to use your form as a template to print  a PDF file. If that’s the case, you might need to check your browser’s print settings. It’s may not be allowing you to view some elements on your page in print mode. Check the "Page Setup" section to review your current preferences.

    Hope this helps!

PS. If this doesn’t work, please send us the following information:

    1)     Browser used and version.

    2)     PDF printer application (e.g. Adobe Acrobat, Nitro, etc.)

    3)     Some screenshots would help as well.

My browser is IE 8.0.7600.16385, Adobe Reader 9

I tested out some other fillable forms, notably on the Fidelity web site and I could see the text I entered when I did a print preview and it printed with the fillable fields I entered. With the Jot Form I am not seeing any of the text I entered when I do the print preview and no fillable field where I entered text prints.

We would like to have people fill out the form online, print it, then sign it and bring the hard copy form to the gym.

    Thank you for the support!

    Hi there,

First of all, thank you for using JotFrom!

JotForm uses dynamic Javascript code to construct your forms. This means that it might give a different output on different printer configurations. Most of it has something to do with the printer drivers installed on your computer. Before going ahead though, I would like to ask if you are saving the form as a PDF file first or are you printing the form directly? Also, have you tried this on a different computer to see if the problem is isolated?

In any case, I understand what you are trying to accomplish. It’s a little bit tricky but I think I have a sure solution for you. One way to circumvent this is to send the accomplished form to the applicant via email notification instead. This is very much possible. This way, you won’t have to worry about the printer settings altogether. This should be easier for the customer to print it out.

Email notifications are highly customizable. You can make them look anyway you want. You can add images and rearrange the fields to whatever layout you like.

I’ve attached some screenshots to help you through setting up the notification:

    Hope this helps!

The pdf form (that is to be filled in) is unable to be saved on the computer, you only have the option of printing it.

I have tried on two computers, an Apple and PC, when entering text in the form, it doesn't show up on the print preview in either case and doesn't print as well.

The need is to have a fillable form pdf on our web site that can work (print the filled form) on any customer computer.

Have you been able to take my raw form, create a pdf version, fill in the text fields and print it with the filled in fields?

At the risk of adding confusion to this post...I added a "Print Form" button from the tool bar to the bottom of my form so folks could keep a printed copy of their submission BEFORE they go to the Paypal page.  It prints the form AND the fillable data...every time.

    Hi there,

Yes. I was able to get a printout myself. Here it is:

This shows that your form is  not the issue.

Printing your form directly though  would work as well but, I understand that you would like to allow your applicants to save the PDF file locally as well.

I’m really not sure what the cause is but your PDF writer’s print drivers are not recognizing the fields. Try using Nitro PDF it’s free. See if it makes a difference.

I have the same issue. I need to print the filled form. It just prints text but not the actual form.

    Thanks for contacting us.

You want to print submissions of your form which will look exactly the same like your form. If that is the case you can achieve that with adding print button on your form. That can be found on the submit button properties when you click your submit button. Click "Advanced" and set the "Print Button" to "ON".

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Go to the your form submission page.

    2. Inside of submission page, click the "Edit".

    3. While you are on the Edit mode, click on the Print button of the your form.

    4. Print and follow the print dialog/instructions.

Let us know if you need further assistance.
