Can modify a Submission Excel form and the changes hold

I have a form that is generated by a client and I want to open the excel submissions sheet and enter a completion date so that they can review it later.

Can I do this or do I have to edit the form ?

You can simply edit the submissions. Then you will be able to download them as excel files. So, you can provide these excel files (which will include the completion date) to your client. Here is the guide:
