Is there a better way to get customers to fill out these credit card authorizations?
Seems like people want to make reservations
but when they get to the point where they enter credit card details for authorizations they are backing out of it
But, it is necessary for my business. Because I am not traveling 2 hours to pick-up a customer that isn't there and then not get paid anything for it
you can find that part on the reservations when you click on yes the pick-up is more than 30 minutes away from Burlington,Vt.

Payment Authorization Only feature is possible. You can set it up on your form.
Guide : How to Enable Payment Authorization
As to your form steps, please check on the screenshot image for the comments/suggestions.
First, I think you should minimize the long text explanation about the Authorization Purpose Only.
It can be off putting and can only cause the user to overthink. It also gives the impression that you were trying to convince them that you were only after their credit card account details. People will not easily give CC account data as it is a confidential data.
Then next, how about changing the Authorization Only payment item to something else that actually present payment.
At the end, there is payment amount ($50) after all.
How about changing it to Reservation "Fee". The word Fee is easy to understand that it is "payment".
I hope this help. Let us know if you need further assistance.
