It's true that some people use letters instead of numbers in their phone number.
Also, it accepts one single digit as a phone number.
Example, I can enter:
Area Code: "X" Phone Number: "X"
Your phone number widget accepts this as a valid phone number. In no country is "X" a valid phone number.
This makes it impossible to validate phone numbers.
Please add the following properties:
-"Accept Letters" Yes/No
-Country: the widget should automatically adjust number of digits required based on the country.

It is not a bug actually. But there is no validation on the phone field. It can only check if the user has entered something when you enable the required option.
The workaround is to use the regular textbox field and put Numeric validation on it.
I will forward your suggestion to our next level support since it do have merit on it.
We will update you via this thread about its progress.
We have added a new feature into the Phone Question, we called it the Phone masking, the validation of phonenumber input is now depends on how the form owner put the masking.
For example. the default masking is ####-#####, the # symbols represent the numbers to be entered. Try it and let me know your comments. Please try to clean your browser cache to get the latest updates.

I created the following mask:
Then i tested the form.
I was able to enter:
in the phone number fields. It was accepted.
Then i cleared my browser cache, and tried again.

I checked this form, and see that the phone field does not have its input mask property set to ON
You have to set ON the input mask for it to work.
I tested it on a cloned form of yours. I enabled the input mask ON
