Browser back button going back too far after following linkAsked by CurtainCallYouthPlayers on April 09, 2013 at 01:09 AM
I am experimenting with links in a Free Text field and I am having trouble with Chrome's back button taking me back too far. Right now I have two Free Text fields in my form. The second field has two links in the text. The first link is set to open up in the same window and the second link is set to open up in a different window. When I view the first link, I use my browser back button when I am done with the link. But this takes me back to the first Free Text field instead of staying in the second Free Text field. The second link works fine since it's a pop-up, but I'd rather have the link open in the same window. Is there something I can do to keep this from happening or is it just the way Chrome works?
I guess that's the behavior of the form even using IE and FF. You may consider opening the link in New tab instead.
Or, you may consider this workaround (popup window):
Thank you, Welvin. I like the popup window in the example you shared. I hadn't experimented with that before, but I found some instructions in the forum and it works great now.
