    how can i build a subscriber list

    I want to add a form to my web site that captures the persons email address. However if they come back to my site I dont want them to have to re-register and send the email address again. I want them to be able to choose an option that says they have already registered and assuming they have, the form will show a different option.  Of course it is the checking of the previous submission that I cannot fathom.  I know I can add a warning using strict cookie policy but how do I then show a different option on the form if they have tried to re-register.  I hope thats clear!

    Hi,

    You can achieve this by:

    1. Using the form's source code embed.

    2. Create custom cookie using javascript that will determine a form's field (i.e. email field)

    3. Since the cookie will be on the client's end, when the client re-register again, it should be able to detect the installed cookie (email address), then, a redirect URL script can be use to show an alternative option.

    OR you can also integrate the form to JotForm existing newsletter integrations like Mad Mimi, AWeber, MailChimp, Campaign Monitor

    Using integration, you will be able to build your subsribers lists and register them officially on the mentioned integrations. You can then manage the subscribers.

    Thanks for the reply.

    The first option does not work for me. my website uses a CMS and I can only add the iframe code. Javasrcipt is stripped out. 

    I am using MailChimp to send the subscribers info to a list but how I can redirect the user if they are already registered. Currently my form redirects the user once they are registered.

    Hi,

    Unfortunatelly, the only way I know to catch the potential re-registering user is via the javascript/cookie  option I mentioned in my previous response. Because you will need a customize code function to do it.

    When I suggested the integrations(like MailChimp), I only meant to suggest an alternative and better way to manage your subscribers lists -- but this will still not give you the ability to capture re-registering users when using on the form.

    How about if you enable the "loose check" in unique submission, and then just change the alert message to something else the user can relate to.. like., "You have registered previously. Please check your email"
