    Form stop applying if's

Asked by XtrailMexico on April 23, 2013 at 09:38 AM

    Good morning:

Starting yesterday and without any changes being made, my form (Registro Xtrail Peña de Bernal), stop aplying all the ifs conditions i have.

The most important one, Quieres registrar otro participante (Do you want to register another participant), is the one used to determine if the inscription process if over or not, and currently if a client selects no, the form shows the text boxs for a second participant (this wasnt happening).

So my question is: what was modified in my form that made all my conditions stop working?

I really need this problem solved as quickly as possible because im closing inscriptions and several customers are not being able to subscribe to my event due to this problem.

Thanks in advance for your time.

For an extrange reason it seems that you (jotform) applied some changes in they way the conditions are applied, therefore, all the rules i have (nearly 260) stop working...

The question is, is there a way to change this? or do i have to re do all?

So basically the Conditional Logic on your form stopped working entirely if am understanding all of this?

First, I can see that your forms are disabled, did you do this because of the problem that was happening?

I've taken a look at your form and it looks like you would need to correct some of the Conditional Logic on it since I noticed it was working when " If " in the dropdown for the question is working but when " Not " is chosen I think it is supposed to show the submit button and yet it does not so you will need to correct your rules to make this happen. The best way to do this is to remove the conditions on a clone of the form and add them in testing it each time to ensure it is how you want.

If you have further troubles or issues with this just let us know so that we can help you more with getting your form up to speed and working again.

Yes i had to disable the form due to the malfunction...

There are 5 conditions that address what you mention (260-265), that properly show the page footer when you select 'no' in the question.

What botters me is, what was change for this to stop working? everything was ok until yesterday around 1pm Mexico City time, so i dont know what triggered this...

So as far as i understad, i have to rework the form?

Thank you for confirming that and I do apologize if something has created this as a problem for you.

I've recently noticed that it seems like our Developers are working on a New Build of the Conditional Logic Wizard and are updating it since i've seen a few changes occur to make it more user-friendly and there is a possibility that this could've caused an issue with one of your conditions.

I will do what I can to help get this form back up and running for you but I would like to request a little bit of time so that I can help you with the reconfiguration of your form and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Hi, I just wanted to give you a Progress Update about your form.

I have already started working on the reconfiguration and my goal was to fix this problem by combining several of your conditions which will help since that is what I started in the first condition for the form because I think that this has caused a further issue with the conditional rules you have hence the reason why it is not working. However, at the moment I have run into a big issue on your form on my end where because there are too many conditions this is causing your form to lag out completely when I begin trying to remove them so that I can correct this. It seems to be taking forever or at least this is happening on the clone I am using of your form.

I am still working on it but because of this it is taking a very long time to remove them so this may unfortunately take awhile since it is giving me a huge amount of trouble over this so I am very sorry about this.

Are you able to clone this form and remove all of the conditions for the clone on your end or do you get this same problem?

I would also like to point out that I think it as of right now it may probably be best to rebuild this form entirely from scratch because of this to create a fresh copy which is what I may have to do to work around the problem that is causing this. It also leads me to believe that after looking at some of these conditions the majority of them could be combined therefore I would like to highly recommend this guide to you - http://www.jotform.com/help/196-How-to-Hide-or-Show-Multiple-Fields-at-Once-Based-On-a-Single-Conditional-Entry which will teach you how to fine-tune multiple conditions since it appears that you might be unfamiliar with ways to condense this possibly. I think this will help you not only to shorten the conditions for this form and it's creation time but it should also help you to avoid getting more conditional conflicts of your form.

I will still be working on this as best I can but I just wanted to give you a heads up about what is currently going on.

I found that my conditions stopped working if I added a Logo to top of my form.

Then I take it away works again.  ?
