How to limit/cap on participant entry

Asked by Hemant on May 03, 2013 at 01:13 PM

I am using Jot form for verity of my community function. It has very fantastic features. I need some help in this regards.

In variety of function- Different categories of items, we want to limit participant entry.

Example:  In Dance competition if we want only 20 entries out 100 potential applicant from entire communities. Once participant entries reach to its maximum limit of 20,  can we stop to get more entries in “ Dance categories. ? could it display any message to viewers that this categories is full. so far I have to check manually all the entire and contact each participant if limit reaches to its maximum cap.

Please help , your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hemant

    @Hemant

I can think of one workaround to achieve your requirement.

You need to create one main/master form where user will be selecting the categories. Then you need to create seperate forms for all your categories.

When user selects a category in main form, based on the selection you redirect the user to category specific form by using conditional logic (Change Thank you URL after Submission). In this form you can set the unique question or set the submission limit.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

I have not tried it but as per your answerI am guessing that I have to create multiple sub form for each different category or could it work for different categories as the same time.
Can singleparticipant could select diffrent catgories of items at the same time with his/her other details? or he need to start from begening for each diffrent categories.

Example: if Mac is participant and he want to take part in " Dance " and " Volley ball" catgores. Can he pick both the categories at the same time and submit it will "Cap limitation' ?

    Dance (Total 20 entries)
    Basketball (Total 5 entries)
    Volley ball (Total 10 entries)
    Please advise

    Hi Hemant,

That will be an issue. You want to limit the submission based on single category, if you allow your user to select multiple category on your main form then the sub form wont be able to get the submission count for both the categories.

    Thanks,

    Hi Hemanth,

Unfortunatley, i dont see any other option unless you use your own DB and some PHP code to check the count of submission for your categories.

    Thanks,
