Is it possible to have a number from a custom-input field that is to be subtracted from a sum of other fields?

Asked by kitiyalh on May 24, 2013 at 07:33 AM

Hi, I'm creating a form for teachers to submit scores for a relatively simple rubric. I've been able to sum 3 input fields--however, I would also like to add a 4th optional field (user input) that would need to be subtracted from the sum of the first 3 fields. is it possible?

    This is my form:

The fields in question are at the bottom: Scores (basic requirement, accountability, engagement). I would like to add a fourth field for "Behaviors that disrupt", which, if filled out, would be subtracted from the sum for the first three fields.

    Thank you!

ps. I haven't put the form on my website yet.

    Hello Kitiya!

Ok, I'm not able to see the form with the link that you provided but with what you would like to do, it is not possible with the current features of jotForm.

However, that can be done using simple PHP code if you are able to access the server side of your site.
