Spacing + formatting

I dont understand how the formatting works with JotForm. Why am I not able to manipulate the entry blocks so they align with each other? Also, why is there so much wasted space. I'm unable to get more questions per page because there are huge gaps between questions? This may be a helpful site for some but seems really clunky.
