Appointment: Allow users to specify number of attendees

A lot of the members have a family account and they need to make a single appointment to have say 4 people come to the Health Club. Is there any way of capturing that as part of this feature vs. them have to make 4 different appointments for the same time slot?

If I understand your requirement correctly, each member may require different time slot for their appointment. If so, it is required to submit the form separately to make different appointments. 

Let us know if you want the group to make the appointment with different slots on the same submission. It would be helpful if you can provide us with more information so that we may be able to forward a feature request to our backend team.

Hi Kiran, thanks for following up on this. I think the best example is the Restaurant analogy. Say I want to make a appointment for 4 people at 7 pm. With the current Appointment setup, one slot equals one person, so I don't have a way of knowing that the appointment actually should take up 4 slots for 7 pm. Do do this, they'd have to make 4 separate 7 pm appointments to get that time slot to know that 4 slots have been taken. Let me know if this makes sense.

You may consider adding multiple Name fields and hide them to show based on a field to add more members. Please see the guide below that might help.

Thanks Kiran, we ultimately need it to reduce the number of slots, so this won't work for us. We set the system to allow 5 Attendees per Slot (see below), so we are wanting it to reduce that number when a family of 4 registers for a Slot. We are trying to avoid having that family have to submit 4 separate submissions. If that is not possible, perhaps you could submit a feature request on this.

What could help is at least showing the user how many available slots there are per Time Slot. I.e. 10 am (5 slots).

The max number of persons per slot set is as 5. So a family of 4 persons can also register under this setup.

However, I think what you need is to block a slot when it gets filled. 

Example: You want to show a time 10 am has 5 slots available. When a family of 5 books this slot, then 10 am will be disabled and will not be available for the next submission. Is that correct?

Do confirm if this is the method that you are looking for.

Could you check if the Quantity Gift registry widget will suit your requirement?

Thanks, Quantity Gift Registry won't work, as we need this tied to a calendar and specific slots per day. I don't think you all are quite following what we are looking for, thanks for trying.

The Group option in the Appointment field allows multiple submissions for the same slot based on the limit. With the multiple name fields that I am referring to for the same slot would work as in the demo form below:

The number field added is limited to a maximum of 4 so the names displayed the option and only one slot will be used for each submission.

Thanks, this isn't what we are talking about, let me further explain. We are trying to allow for people to make appointments for the same time slot in different combinations of people.

Let's say for each appointment, we can allow 5 people total.

Say we have 2 different families wanting to make an appointment for the same 10 am time slot. 10 am can take 5 total people, but that can be in any combination (5 single individuals, 2 families one with 3 people and the other with 2 people, etc).

Say in our example, Family A has 3 people and Family B has 3 people.  Both Families shouldn't be able to register for 10 am, because that would be a total of 6 people, which is greater than the max total of 5 people. If Family A makes an appointment, it will only reduce the remaining available Slots for 10 am by 1, not by 3. That will allow Family B to also register for that Slot, even though there should only be 2 remaining Slots, which is less than their family size of 3.

This is the problem we are trying to solve with the appointment feature.

As per checking, there is no option available to those who fill out the form on how many attendees are included in their appointment. In fact, one submission is counted as 1 attendee against the Appointment slots.

I have forwarded a feature request to allow user to specify how many attendees are coming along for that specific appointment/submission.
