Sending {edit_link} in a later email (not immediately after submission)

Asked by G3Tech on April 28, 2011 at 03:14 AM

I didn't have an autoresponder set up, which would have been an easier way to deal with this.  But since I didn't, is there a way to email the edit_link long after the form has been submitted?

For example, from the submisisons page I'd like to be able to hit the reply button to send the submitter an email showing them their answers and including the link to go back to their form to correct something.  I tried adding the {edit_link} tag within that reply (which would have been really cool) but that didn't do it.

Alternatively, something like a "Reply with template" button with the auto-responder email template builder to build the email would work.  Or having the edit_link tag in the fields table of the submissions view (where IP and submit date are) so it would be included in the email merge.

    Hi Gregg

You're right. Having edit links automatically generated by including "{edit_link}" tags in replies sent from the Submissions page would be great. This will be added to our feature request list but for the time being you can create a plain text document, copy this URL and save it. Now whenever you want to include an edit link in a Submission page reply, just copy the URL and paste it into the reply.

How to reveal the submission's ID:

To render the URL as a clickable link, wrap it in anchor tags.

Thanks for the suggestion and please feel free to share additional ideas that could improve JotForm.

Thanks, that will work.  For anyone else trying this.  If you're not getting the correct form, take note of the capitalization in the "formID=" part of the URL.  My typo cost me some head scratching for a while!
